As the electric vehicle (EV) industry rapidly evolves, Kentuckys automotive instructors are on the frontlines preparing a future-ready workforce. Yet for many under-resourced high schools, area technology centers, and community colleges, launching EV instruction feels financially out of reach. This session introduces a low-cost, high-impact EV curriculum model funded by the National Science Foundations Advanced Technological Education (NSF ATE) program. Designed with input from high school educators, regional employers, the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), and technical faculty, this initiative will equip instructors with the tools, knowledge, and support to bring EV fundamentals into existing automotive pathwayswithout requiring new degrees or expensive equipment.Participants will learn how the project is building a sustainable train-the-trainer network across Kentucky, creating accessible professional development, and adapting content for different teaching environments and equipment. Whether youre a CTE teacher in a rural high school or a community college faculty member exploring industry-aligned EV modules, this session offers practical strategies and partnership opportunities.
