About me
Christina Watford is a Persistence to Graduation program consultant at the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) with 23 years of experience in public education. Before joining KDE, she spent 15 years as a certified school counselor, primarily serving students in Scott County Schools. In that role, she supported students’ academic, social-emotional, and postsecondary planning needs, while also leading school-wide initiatives focused on mental health awareness and student advocacy. In her current role, she collaborates with schools to strengthen engagement, apply data-driven approaches to support student success and belonging, implement strategies that help students stay on track to graduate, and prioritize emotional well-being for students and staff. Her career began in Georgia as a high school U.S. History and Citizenship teacher. Christina holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Columbus State University and a Master of Arts in Education in School Counseling from Eastern Kentucky University.
